Engagement terms — placeholder
These terms are a placeholder so the commercial points are visible. They are not legal advice and have not been settled by a solicitor. Review them before the site is used to take paid work.
Sending a quote request does not appoint Carbon Edge Consulting. An engagement starts when you accept a written quote and pay the deposit described in it.
Section J reports are From $650 inc GST. A 50% deposit is payable when you accept the quote. The balance is due before the report is released. One minor revision is included. A minor revision is a correction, or a small drawing change that does not add scope. A new tenancy, a different classification, or a redesigned façade is quoted again.
Residential assessment fees are published ex GST. GST (10%) is added to the NatHERS and BASIX assessment fee and to the NatHERS certificate fee. BASIX certificate fees are GST-free. Certificate fees are passed through at cost with no margin. A 50% deposit is payable to start. The balance is due on issue of the final certificates. One to two minor revisions are included. A major revision is $195 per hour + GST. A residential quote is valid for 30 days from the quote date. Priority turnaround is +40% on our fee only.
The work is the service named in the quote: a Deemed-to-Satisfy Section J assessment, a design-stage note, NatHERS, BASIX, or NatHERS and BASIX together. It is not a building approval, not a performance solution, and not a check of items that were not provided. NatHERS certificates are issued through NatHERS-approved software. BASIX certificates are lodged through the BASIX portal. BASIX is for New South Wales projects only.
You need the right to share the drawings. The report or certificates are for the project named in the quote. They should not be reused on another site or another scope.
Fees on the website are in Australian dollars. The published Section J starting fee includes GST. Residential assessment fees are ex GST, and the quote states the GST on each of those lines.
Professional indemnity insurance held.
Liability for a report or certificate is limited to the fee paid for that engagement, except where the law does not allow a limit. That sentence is a placeholder and must be checked before use.
Governing law is for a solicitor to set before these terms are relied on.
